Adjustable rings ideally need to remain as round as possible and that's very difficult to do just by squeezing the edges of the band together or pulling them apart. This mini wooden cone very much helps with that whilst also looking cute on your dressing table :-)

It's only 15mm tall (23mm round at the base) so really doesn't take up too much room.
